                  It’s name originates from the River Sheaf which runs through the city.
       The city grew quickly during the industrial revolution with the manufacture of steel.
          By 1296 a market had been established in the area now known as Castle Square
 Sheffield is currently being redeveloped with many new building projects being undertaken.
